After melting stock and "heavy duty " alternators from after-market companies we procured the American Power Systems Nitro unit for our Crown Vic K-9 units and our problems were solved.....

"14.8 volts with all the lights on"...............We used to watch our volt meter plummet to 10.8 volts when the light bars went on, even with supposed "high power alternators". After installing the American Power Systems Police Nitro II unit we had no problems keeping our batteries charged, even at long periods with the light bars on and the engine idling. Also our light bars were much brighter..........
